SPICY HOT SAUSAGE BALLS
Can't remember where I got this. But it's a really fun and easy recipe, a great appetizer for most any occasion. It is important you use packaged sausage and not meat counter sausage (I used Jimmy Dean brand) because the consistency is not the same.

HOT & SPICY SAUSAGE BALLS
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients completely until all the bisquick is incorporated. Take a teaspoon of the mixture and form into balls. Bake for 30 to 40 min or until golden brown.
Tips:
- Make sure to use a good quality sausage for the best flavor. Spicy Italian sausage is a classic choice, but you can also use breakfast sausage, chorizo, or even a vegetarian sausage.
- If you don't have buttermilk, you can make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to 1 cup of milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes.
- Don't overmix the sausage mixture. Overmixing will make the sausage balls tough.
- Bake the sausage balls until they are browned and crispy on the outside and cooked through on the inside. This will take about 20-25 minutes.
- Serve the sausage balls hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Honey mustard, BBQ sauce, or ranch dressing are all great options.
Conclusion:
Spicy Hot Sausage Balls are a delicious and easy appetizer that is perfect for parties, potlucks, or game day. They are also a great way to use up leftover sausage.
