Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • When it is hot, place the breakfast sausages onto the air fryer tray. Make sure to not overcrowd the air fryer - this will help the sausages to cook evenly.
  • Cook the sausages for 10-12 minutes until fully cooked through and crispy on the outside. Gently shake the air fryer basket or flip the sausages with tongs halfway through. Depending on the sausages' thickness, your preferred level of crispiness, and your air fryer, the cook time can vary slightly.

½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Working in batches, cook patties for 3 minutes. Flip and cook 3 minutes more or until juices run clear. Tips:

  • Choose the right sausage: Use a breakfast sausage that is at least 80% lean. This will help to prevent the sausage from becoming too greasy.
  • Use a meat thermometer: To ensure that the sausage is cooked all the way through, insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the sausage. The sausage is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket: If you overcrowd the basket, the sausage will not cook evenly. Cook the sausage in batches if necessary.
  • Flip the sausage halfway through cooking: This will help to ensure that the sausage cooks evenly on all sides.
  • Serve the sausage immediately: Breakfast sausage is best served hot and fresh. Enjoy it with your favorite breakfast sides, such as eggs, pancakes, or waffles.

Conclusion:

Making breakfast sausage in the air fryer is a quick and easy way to enjoy a delicious and hearty breakfast. The air fryer cooks the sausage evenly and quickly, and it is a healthier alternative to frying the sausage in oil. With just a few simple ingredients and steps, you can have a delicious breakfast sausage that the whole family will love.
