SPICY GLAZED PECANS
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350. Butter heavy large baking sheet. Combine first 4 ingredients in heavy small saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil 2 minutes. Add pecans and stir until pecans are coated with mixture, about 1 minute. Transfer to prepared baking sheet, spreading evenly. Bake until just beginning to brown, about 13 minutes. Transfer to cookie sheet lined with waxed paper and separate with fork.
Tips:
- Use fresh pecans for the best flavor. If you can't find fresh pecans, you can use frozen or vacuum-sealed pecans. Just be sure to thaw them before using.
- Toast the pecans before glazing them. This will help to bring out their flavor and make them more crunchy.
- Use a combination of spices in the glaze. This will give the pecans a complex flavor. Some good options include chili powder, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- Don't overcook the glaze. The glaze should be thick and syrupy, but it shouldn't be too hard. If the glaze is too hard, it will be difficult to coat the pecans.
- Let the pecans cool completely before storing them. This will help to prevent them from sticking together.
Conclusion:
Spicy glazed pecans are a delicious and easy-to-make snack. They're perfect for parties, potlucks, or just a quick snack at home. With their sweet and spicy flavor, these pecans are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a tasty snack, give spicy glazed pecans a try!
