You can add horseradish for more of a Zing!O for some nice fresh heat try adding a tablespoon of JOY coriander chutney (basically cilantro and chilies).

Provided by Rita1652

Categories     Spreads

Time 10m

Yield 1 Dip, 16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup mustard
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 tablespoon finely chopped green onion
1 (4 ounce) can crab, drained
1 tablespoon coriander chutney (optional)
assorted cut-up vegetables
toasted pita bread
cracker

Steps:

  • Blend cream cheese, mustard, Old Bay, sour cream and green onions; stir in crab.
  • Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  • Serve as a dip with cut-up vegetables, pita and/or crackers.

Tips:

  • Use the right type of crab. Fresh or frozen crab meat can be used, but canned crab meat will not work well in this dip.
  • Be careful not to overcook the crab. Overcooked crab will be tough and chewy.
  • Use a good quality cream cheese. The cream cheese is the base of the dip, so it is important to use a good quality brand.
  • Add some spice. The amount of spice you add is up to you, but a little bit of cayenne pepper or chili powder will give the dip a nice kick.
  • Serve the dip with your favorite dippers. Crackers, chips, and vegetables are all good options.

Conclusion:

This spicy crab dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. Serve it with your favorite dippers and enjoy!
