This is the best all around steak spice I have ever used. My all time favourite way to use this is on chicken and on roasted potatoes but you can use it on anything that you want to add a little spice to.

SPICY STEAK MARINADE

Spicy Steak Marinade image

My family loves this slightly spicy marinade, we've even cooked it down and added tomato sauce and made it into a type of basting/barbeque sauce. Place steaks in a resealable plastic bag and pour marinade over the top. Allow to rest for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor and tenderness.

SPICED UP SWISS STEAK

Spiced up Swiss Steak image

My family loves when I make this and I like when they ask for it, since it's so easy to throw together. And the salsa adds a nice kick to the gravy that makes you want a little more.

Provided by Nancy Nemecek @Nancy_Nemecek

Categories     Beef

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 - cube steaks
3/4 cup(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) pepper
1-2 dash(es) garlic powder
1 small jar(s) beef gravy
6 ounce(s) salsa, chunky - i use med. hot, but you may want more or less heat to it.
1/2 cup(s) vegetable oil for frying

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over med. high heat.
  • Mix together the flour, salt & pepper and garlic powder on a plate. Press the cube steaks in the flour making sure they are fully coated. Fry just until well browned on both sides.
  • While the meat is browning, mix the gravy & salsa together in an 8 x 8 baking pan. If you're worried about the spiciness or want more, feel free to adjust the salsa. I wouldn't go much less than 2 parts gravy to one part salsa or more than a 1 to 1 ratio for flavor sake. Place the browned cube steaks in the pan & push down into the gravy so it mostly covers them. Also, I like to scrape up those bits from the frying pan to add to the gravy.
  • Cover tightly with foil and bake 45 min. If making more than 4, add a few more minutes to the bake time for each additional steak. I usually have to double the recipe and bake for 1 hr. in a 9 x 13 pan.
  • We like to serve this with mashed potatoes because the gravy is just sooo good on them.

SPICED UP STEAK

Spiced up Steak image

This is my girlfriend's creation. This is really nice and I found that is good to change the amount of spices added according to your taste. We normally have 2 pieces each.

Provided by Ben Ross

Categories     Meat

Time 20m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

8 pieces sirloin steaks, small
1 tablespoon thyme
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon oregano
salt
pepper

Steps:

  • Mix all the spices together including the salt and pepper.
  • Lightly coat the steak with the herbs and cook on high heat for 2 minutes on each side on high heat.
  • Serve with a bread roll, chips and a salad (try my Recipe #15758).

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of steak: Select a cut that is tender and flavorful, such as ribeye, strip loin, or tenderloin.
  • Marinate the steak: Marinating the steak helps to tenderize it and infuse it with flavor. You can use a variety of marinades, such as a simple olive oil and garlic marinade or a more complex marinade with herbs and spices.
  • Cook the steak to your desired doneness: The best way to cook a steak is to use a meat thermometer to ensure that it is cooked to your desired doneness. Rare steaks should be cooked to an internal temperature of 125°F, medium-rare steaks to 135°F, medium steaks to 145°F, and well-done steaks to 160°F.
  • Let the steak rest before slicing: After cooking the steak, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
  • Serve the steak with your favorite sides: Spiced-up steak can be served with a variety of sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad.

Conclusion:

Spiced-up steak is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight meal. By following these tips, you can create a perfectly cooked steak that is sure to impress your friends and family.
