Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 9

6 slices whole-wheat sandwich bread, 2 slices torn into small pieces
1 pound lean ground turkey (7% fat)
1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream
4 tablespoons prepared mango chutney, finely chopped
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon chili powder
Coarse salt
Mesclun lettuce mix
1 medium tomato, sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat broiler, with rack set 4 inches from heat. In a medium bowl, mix together bread pieces, turkey, sour cream, 3 tablespoons chutney, 1 tablespoon mustard, chili powder, and 1 teaspoon coarse salt.
  • Shape mixture into four 5-inch round patties. Broil on a rimmed baking sheet until firm and cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes per side.
  • Meanwhile, lightly toast remaining 4 slices bread; transfer to serving plates. Top each slice with lettuce, burger, and tomato. Stir together remaining tablespoon chutney and mustard; serve alongside burgers.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ground turkey: This will ensure that the burgers are juicy and flavorful.
  • Season the turkey burgers generously: The spices in this recipe will help to create a delicious, flavorful burger.
  • Don't overcook the burgers: Turkey burgers can easily dry out, so it's important to cook them just until they are cooked through.
  • Use a variety of toppings: The toppings you choose can really make or break a burger. Try experimenting with different options, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and avocado.
  • Serve the burgers on a toasted bun: A toasted bun will help to hold the burger together and add a delicious crunch.

Conclusion:

These spiced turkey burgers are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional beef burgers. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Whether you are looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal or a fun weekend cookout, these turkey burgers are sure to be a hit.
