Time 10m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup hot brewed espresso
1/4 cup flavored liquid non-dairy coffee creamer, such as amaretto, Irish creme or 1/4 cup french vanilla
1 dash ground cinnamon
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
1 dash ground cardamom

Steps:

  • Stir together the hot espresso, creamer, and cinnamon in a glass measuring cup
  • Pour into 2 mugs.
  • Add a scoop of ice cream to each and sprinkle with cardamom.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality coffee beans: For an authentic cappuccino, use freshly roasted, high-quality coffee beans. Dark roast beans provide a bold, rich flavor that pairs well with the creamy milk froth.
  • Grind your coffee beans just before brewing: Grinding your coffee beans just before brewing ensures optimal flavor and aroma. Use a burr grinder for a consistent grind size.
  • Use the right amount of coffee: The ideal coffee-to-water ratio for a cappuccino is 1:2. This means using 1 part coffee grounds to 2 parts water.
  • Steam the milk properly: Steaming the milk is crucial for creating a smooth, velvety microfoam. Use a steam wand or a milk frother to heat and froth the milk until it reaches a temperature between 150°F and 160°F (65°C and 70°C).
  • Swirl the milk before pouring: After steaming the milk, swirl it gently in the pitcher to create a smooth, velvety texture. This helps incorporate air into the milk and create a rich, creamy foam.
  • Pour the cappuccino slowly and carefully: Hold the cappuccino cup at an angle and slowly pour the steamed milk into the cup. Start by pouring the milk in a thin stream, then gradually increase the flow as the cup fills.
  • Top with a dusting of spices: For a spiced cappuccino, sprinkle a blend of spices, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom, on top of the foamed milk before serving. This adds a warm, aromatic flavor to the cappuccino.

Conclusion:

Indulge in the delightful flavors of a homemade spiced cappuccino, expertly crafted using the finest ingredients and techniques. Experiment with different spice blends to create unique flavor combinations that tantalize your taste buds. This exquisite beverage is perfect for a cozy morning or as a special treat to enjoy with friends.
