1 teaspoon canola oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 cup milk
2 to 3 cups julienned cooked roast beef
1 jar (4-1/2 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Hot cooked noodles

Steps:

1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup milk
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/2-1 teaspoon paprika
1 cup raw mushrooms, sliced (or 4 ounce can sliced mushrooms drained)
1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 lb hot cooked egg noodles

Steps:

  • Saute meat, onions, and garlic in a hot skillet about 5 minutes, until meat is browned.
  • If using raw mushrooms, add them now, and cook until they are soft.
  • Stir in flour and seasonings. Cook a minute or two so the flour won't taste raw.
  • Gradually stir in the milk.

If it is a fairly cheap cut of meat, marinate it for 1 hour in the refrigerator with 1 tbsp vinegar, 1 tsp salt and enough water to cover. This will tenderize the meat. It is best to slice the meat while partially frozen, and slice it diagonally across the grain to make the meat more tender and also make it look larger in the dish! To make this more economical, use ground beef, but be sure to drain the grease from the pan! Note: Prep time does not include marinating a less tender cut of beef!

1 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over high heat. Sprinkle steak with salt adn pepper. Working in batches, add steak to skillet, brown on all sides. Using slotted spoon, transfer steak to bowl after each batch. Add mushrooms and onion to skillet; sate until brown, about 12 minutes. Mix in flour. Add broth and wine; boil until sauce thickens and coats spoon, stirring often, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low. REturn steak and any collected juices to skillet. Mix in sour cream adn paprika. Stir until heated through, about 3 minutes (do not boil). Season with salt and pepper.
