RUSSIAN TEA
I love this tangy beverage on a cold winter's morning when I want something tasty and hot, but don't want coffee! It makes a great gift from your kitchen, too! If calories are your concern, use an artificially sweetened orange drink mix, eliminate the sugar and sweeten to taste with sugar substitute.

GRANDMA'S RUSSIAN TEA
I grew up drinking this tea at my grandmother's house. I now fix it at my house on really cold days, when I am sick (lots of vitamin C!), and at Christmas. It is perfect to let simmer on the stove to make the house smell good and to serve to guests. I have no idea why its called 'Russian' tea; that is just what my grandmother always called it. Use any tea you like. I've used regular black tea, decaf, and cinnamon spice, and it's all great. If using spiced tea, you may want to adjust the amount of cinnamon, cloves, and allspice. This is also great reheated!

Steps:
- 1. Boil Spice Bag in 1 quart of water. Add 1 quart of heated sweet tea to spice water along with juices. Serve HOT. Makes about one gallon. May add 1/2 cup Red Hot Candies.
- 2. If you want stronger tea, add 2 tea bags to boiling water with spice bag. NOTE: You can purchase tea already prepared at the super market which is labeled sweetened or unsweetened. It is displayed in a cooler in gallon jugs. I purchase the sweetened tea, heat it and use it in this tea. You could also make your own with boiling water tea bags and sugar to taste. TIP: I KEEP MINE HOT IN A CROCK POT, I LOVE TO SMELL IT. You can make it ahead to transport, just put it in a sealed container, take your crock pot and heat it up when you reach your destination.

Tips:

- Serve your tea with a lemon wedge: This will add a refreshing citrus flavor to your tea.
