Time 1h30m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 pork tenderloin (1 pound each)
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cups unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup apple juice
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Steps:

  • In a shallow bowl, combine flour, salt and pepper. Cut each tenderloin into six pieces; flatten to about 1-inch thickness. Melt butter in large skillet. Dip pork into flour mixture; add to skillet and brown on both sides. Place in an ungreased 11x7 baking dish. In the same skillet, saute onion and garlic until tender. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Pour over pork. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until the juices run clear and a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees.

Tips:

  • To ensure the pork tenderloin cooks evenly, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. It should read 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare or 160°F (71°C) for medium.
  • If you don't have a meat thermometer, you can check for doneness by cutting into the center of the tenderloin. The meat should be slightly pink in the center for medium-rare or cooked through with no pink for medium.
  • For a more flavorful tenderloin, marinate it in a mixture of olive oil, herbs, and spices for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
  • To prevent the tenderloin from drying out, baste it with the marinade or melted butter during cooking.
  • Let the tenderloin rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful dish.

Conclusion:

Pork tenderloin is a versatile cut of meat that can be cooked in a variety of ways. Whether you're grilling, roasting, or pan-frying, following these tips will help you create a delicious and juicy dish. Experiment with different marinades, seasonings, and cooking methods to find your favorite way to prepare pork tenderloin.
