Southern Living, August 2006. These were so good and looked pretty as well. We doubled the recipe to try and it was gone immediately. We were testing these for a big shindig that we are having this summer. "To hard-cook eggs, place in large pot and cover with cold water. Boil for 1 minute, and remove from heat; cover and let stand 15 minutes."

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 dozen eggs
2-4 slice bacon
2-3 chopped green onions
1 mustard to taste
1 miracle whip to taste

Steps:

  • 1. fry bacon and chop into small bits, chop up the green onions, set both aside.
  • 2. hard boil a dozen eggs, easily adjusted if you want to make more.
  • 3. cut eggs length wise and remove the yellow moons, set aside the whites.
  • 4. mix the yellow moons with mustard and miracle whip to your liking, I add a teaspoon of bacon grease to the mix, after the taste test, add bacon bits and green onions to the yummy goodness.
  • 5. fill the white hulls with the mixture and chill if there are any left.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your deviled eggs.
  • Hard-boil your eggs perfectly. Overcooked eggs will be dry and crumbly, while undercooked eggs will be runny and unsafe to eat. Here's how to hard-boil eggs perfectly every time:
    1. Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover them with cold water.
    2. Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then immediately remove the saucepan from the heat and cover it.
    3. Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 10-12 minutes, depending on how hard you want them to be.
    4. Immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
  • Make sure your deviled egg filling is smooth and creamy. Use a food processor or blender to blend the egg yolks, mayonnaise, and other ingredients until they are completely smooth.
  • Season your deviled egg filling to taste. Add salt, pepper, and other spices to taste until the filling is flavorful but not overpowering.
  • Garnish your deviled eggs with your favorite toppings. Some popular options include paprika, chopped chives, crumbled bacon, or grated cheese.

Conclusion:
