SPANISH CHICKEN & RICE BAKE

A throw-it-together and pop it in the oven supper. Use more chili powder or add hot sauce if you really want to spice it up! I just want to add: Many people who have tried this recipe have had to cook it longer than I have specified. A hint: I always use a casserole dish with a heavy tight-fitting lid. I sometimes presoak my rice in cold water for 10 minutes or so. Hope this helps! =) Barb PS...To Freeze : Cool, portion and freeze in a ziploc bag. To reheat: Thaw, place in a covered casserole dish and bake until heated through.

Tips:

1. Choose the Right Rice: Opt for a short-grain rice like Valencia or Bomba rice for an authentic Spanish paella. These varieties absorb more liquid, resulting in a plump and flavorful dish. 2. Use Quality Saffron: Saffron is a key ingredient in paella, and its quality can significantly impact the dish's flavor. Invest in high-quality saffron threads or powder to ensure a vibrant color and distinctive aroma. 3. Cook the Rice in Broth: Use a flavorful broth, such as chicken or vegetable broth, to cook the rice. This adds depth and richness to the paella, enhancing its overall taste. 4. Don't Overcook the Seafood: Seafood cooks quickly, so be careful not to overcook it. Add the seafood towards the end of the cooking process to prevent it from becoming tough and rubbery. 5. Garnish Generously: A well-garnished paella is a feast for the eyes. Use a variety of vibrant ingredients, such as fresh parsley, lemon wedges, and piquillo peppers, to add color and freshness to the dish.

Conclusion:

With its vibrant flavors, colorful ingredients, and enticing aroma, Spanish chicken and rice bake is a dish that captivates the senses. By following these tips and tricks, you can create an authentic and delicious paella that will transport you to the heart of Spain.
