SPAM© AND VEGETABLE HASH

Spam© and Vegetable Hash image

I saw the original recipe for this in the "America's Best Brand Name Recipes" cookbook. And I "tweaked" a couple of things in it to more suit my tastes. If desired serve with your favorite biscuit or cornbread recipe. If you don't like Spam©, just substitute the same amount of ham or other cooked meat. Submitted to "ZAAR" on September 24, 2007.

Tips:

  • Choose the right Spam: Classic Spam is the ideal choice for this recipe, but you can also use Spam Lite or Spam with Less Sodium if you prefer.
  • Dice the Spam and vegetables evenly: This will ensure that they cook evenly and create a cohesive hash.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: If you try to cook too much Spam and vegetables at once, they will steam instead of fry and you'll end up with a mushy hash. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Cook the Spam and vegetables until they are browned: This will give them a nice flavor and texture.
  • Season to taste: Add salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. You can also add a bit of hot sauce or Sriracha if you like.
  • Serve immediately: Spam and vegetable hash is best served hot and fresh out of the pan.

Conclusion:

Spam and vegetable hash is a quick, easy, and delicious meal that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is also a great way to use up leftover Spam. With its simple ingredients and flavorful taste, this hash is sure to become a family favorite.
