hot water as needed
1 egg

Tips:

  • Choose the right spaghetti squash: Look for spaghetti squash that is medium to large in size and has a deep yellow color. Avoid squash that is bruised or has soft spots.
  • Cook the spaghetti squash properly: To ensure that the spaghetti squash is cooked evenly, use a fork to pierce the skin in several places before cooking. This will allow the steam to escape and prevent the squash from bursting.
  • Use a sharp knife to shred the spaghetti squash: A sharp knife will make it easier to shred the spaghetti squash into thin, spaghetti-like strands. You can also use a fork to shred the squash, but this will take longer.
  • Don't overcook the lasagna: The spaghetti squash lasagna is done when the cheese is melted and bubbly and the sauce is heated through. Overcooking the lasagna will make the squash mushy.
  • Let the lasagna rest before serving: Allowing the lasagna to rest for a few minutes before serving will help it to set and make it easier to slice.
  • Garnish the lasagna with fresh herbs or grated Parmesan cheese before serving: This will add a pop of color and flavor to the dish.

Conclusion:

Spaghetti squash lasagna is a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional lasagna. It's made with spaghetti squash instead of pasta noodles, which makes it lower in carbs and calories. It's also packed with nutrients, including vitamins A, C, and K, and fiber. This recipe is easy to make and can be tailored to your own preferences. You can use your favorite lasagna sauce and cheese, and add additional vegetables or protein if desired. Spaghetti squash lasagna is a great meal for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.
