Tips:

  • For a crispy potato exterior, parboil the potatoes until they are just tender, then drain them and let them cool slightly before tossing them with the olive oil and seasonings.
  • If you don't have a Dutch oven, you can use a large skillet or braising pan. Just be sure that it has a lid and is large enough to hold all of the ingredients.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when you are cooking the potatoes. If you do, they will not cook evenly.
  • Be careful not to overcook the potatoes. They should be tender but still have a little bit of a bite to them.
  • Serve the potatoes immediately, while they are still hot and crispy.

Conclusion:

Southwestern ham and cheese party potatoes are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. They are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. Plus, they are a great way to use up leftover ham and cheese. So next time you are looking for a simple but delicious side dish, give these potatoes a try.
