Tips:

  • For the best results, use freshly grated cheese. Pre-shredded cheese contains cellulose, which can make the triangles tough.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can chop the onions and peppers by hand. Just be sure to chop them very finely.
  • If you want a spicier appetizer, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the filling.
  • If you're short on time, you can use store-bought salsa instead of making your own.
  • These triangles can be made ahead of time and frozen. To freeze, place the unbaked triangles on a baking sheet and freeze for 1 hour. Then, transfer the triangles to a freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months. When you're ready to bake, preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the triangles for 15-20 minutes, or until heated through.

Conclusion:

Southwestern appetizer triangles are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They're made with a simple filling of cheese, onions, peppers, and salsa, and they're baked until golden brown. These triangles are sure to be a hit with your guests, and they're also a great way to use up leftover ingredients.
