Tips:
- Prep your ingredients: Before starting, measure and prep all your ingredients so everything is ready to go. This will help you save time and ensure you don't miss anything important.
- Cook the lasagna noodles al dente: This means cooking them until they are tender but still have a slight bite to them. This will prevent them from becoming mushy in the lasagna.
- Use a good quality salsa: The salsa is a key ingredient in this lasagna, so make sure to choose a one that you enjoy the taste of. A medium or mild salsa is a good option if you don't like things too spicy.
- Don't overcook the lasagna: The lasagna is done when the cheese is melted and bubbly and the noodles are tender. Overcooking will make the lasagna dry and tough.
- Let the lasagna rest before serving: This will allow the flavors to meld and the lasagna to set. It's best to let it rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Conclusion:
This Southwest lasagna is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It's packed with flavor from the salsa, black beans, corn, and cheese. Plus, it's a great way to use up leftover chicken or ground beef. Whether you're a fan of Mexican food or not, you're sure to enjoy this lasagna.
