Number Of Ingredients 12

CRUST:
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
PIE:
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 stick butter, melted
Pinch salt
2 cups pecans

Steps:

  • CRUST: Preheat oven to 350º F. Mix together butter, flour, and confectioner's sugar. Press into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown. PIE: Beat eggs. Add sugar and mix. Add corn syrup, salt and vanilla. Mix in melted butter. Add pecans and pour onto crust. Bake 30 minutes until golden brown.

Tips:

  • Use quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the final product. Use fresh, unsalted butter, pure vanilla extract, and high-quality pecans.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will make the dough tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking. This will help the dough to hold its shape and prevent it from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the bars until they are just set. Overbaking will dry them out. The bars should be slightly soft in the center.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help to prevent them from falling apart.

Conclusion:

These Southern Pecan Pie Bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. They are perfect for any occasion, from potlucks to holiday gatherings.
