SOUR CREAM RAISIN BARS

Sour Cream Raisin Bars image

I got this when I attended a bible school in Rocky Mount, VA. One of my fellow students passed it on to me, after I begged her for it. I have made these numerous times, and they are always great. Beware, if you don't like raisins, you won't like this. It has TONS of raisins in it. Also, I had to guess at how many servings this made, I can't remember.

Tips:

- Use room temperature ingredients, as they blend more smoothly and evenly. - If you don't have buttermilk, you can make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of milk and letting it sit for 5 minutes. - Be careful not to overmix the batter, as this can make the squares tough. - Bake the squares until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. - Let the squares cool completely before frosting them. - If you don't have sour cream, you can substitute plain yogurt or Greek yogurt. - For a sweeter frosting, add more powdered sugar to taste. - You can also add your favorite flavorings to the frosting, such as vanilla extract, almond extract, or lemon zest.

Conclusion:

Sour cream raisin squares are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. With their sweet and tangy flavor, they are sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you are looking for a simple and delicious dessert, give sour cream raisin squares a try. You won't be disappointed!
