Sour Cream Cucumbers image

We have a tradition at our house to serve this creamy cucumber salad with the other Hungarian specialties my mom learned to make from the women at church. It's especially good during the summer when the cucumbers are freshly picked from the garden. -Pamela Eaton, Monclova, Ohio

Tips:

  • Use high-quality sour cream for the best flavor and texture. Full-fat sour cream will give you the richest and creamiest results.
  • If you don't have self-rising flour, you can make your own by adding 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
  • Be careful not to overmix the dough, as this will make the pockets tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Roll the dough out to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. If the dough is too thick, the pockets will be dense and doughy.
  • Cut the dough into circles using a biscuit cutter or a glass. If you don't have a biscuit cutter, you can use a sharp knife.
  • Fill the pockets with your favorite fillings. Some popular fillings include cheese, ham, bacon, and vegetables.
  • Bake the pockets in a preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  • Serve the pockets warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
