Tips:

  • Choose the Right Meat: Use a combination of ground beef and ground pork for a moist and flavorful meatloaf. Leaner meats like ground turkey or chicken can also be used, but they may require additional moisture.
  • Season Generously: Season the meatloaf well with salt, pepper, and other spices and herbs like garlic, onion, paprika, and thyme. You can also add a bit of Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce for extra flavor.
  • Don't Overwork the Meat: Mixing the meatloaf ingredients too much can make it tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined and avoid over-kneading.
  • Shape and Bake: Form the meatloaf mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Let It Rest: Before slicing and serving, let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes. This helps the juices redistribute, resulting in a more flavorful and tender meatloaf.

Conclusion:

Sour cream meatloaf is a classic dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its moist, flavorful texture and tangy sour cream glaze, this meatloaf is sure to be a hit at any gathering. Whether you're serving it for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion, this recipe is sure to deliver delicious results.
