SOUR CREAM AND SAUERKRAUT PORK CHOPS

THYME & GARLIC PORK CHOPS WITH EGG NOODLES IN SOUR CREAM SAUCE
Steps:
- Place a large pot of salted water onto boil. Heat the vegetable oil in a large straight sided skillet over medium high heat. Rub the pork chops on both sides with the cut side of the halved garlic. Then season both sides with salt and pepper and sprinkle with 1 tsp thyme. You can use more if you like the flavor. Place the pork chops in the skillet and allow them to brown. About 5 minutes on each side - more or less depending on your cook top. When they're golden brown and firm to the touch you know you're done. Remove the pork chops and place them on a plate to rest. Add the onions to the skillet and let saute for a few minutes then add the garlic and remaining thyme and cook until the onions are translucent. Dissolve the bullion cube in the boiling water. Combine the flour and the sour cream. Add the egg noodles to the boiling water. Add the beef bullion water to the skillet. Make sure you scrape up all the yummy bits! Add the sour cream to the skillet and combine well. Season the sauce with salt & pepper to taste. Drain the noodles and toss them with the sauce. Serve!

Season pork chops generously with salt and pepper and place in the pan, Cook on medium high heat until browned on both sides and cooked through (135 degrees internal temperature). Remove chops from the pan to a plate and cover with tin foil to rest and finish cooking (internal temperature should rise to 145 degrees).

- Place oil in a large saute pan. Place the pork chops in the pan and cook under low to medium heat until browned on both sides. Remove the pork chops from the pan to a plate.
- Add onions to the pan, cook until softened. Stir in the beef broth and pepper, return the pork chops to the pan, adding any juices left on the plate. Spoon onions over pork chops, cover and simmer about 12 minutes or until no longer pink in the middle. Remove pork chops and onions from the saute pan to a plate.
- In a medium bowl stir the sour cream and flour together. Add to the broth in the pan, whisk until well incorporate. Add the worcestershire sauce to the gravy, stirring to incorporate. PORK CHOPS WITH SOUR CREAM SAUCE RECIPE - (4.5/5)
Provided by HeatherS
Number Of Ingredients 11
Steps:
- In a large skillet, brown pork chops in oil on both sides. Combine the water, brown sugar, onion, ketchup, bouillon and garlic; add to skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until meat juices run clear. Remove chops and keep warm. Combine flour and cold water until smooth; stir into skillet. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in sour cream. Serve with pork chops.
Tips:
- Choose high-quality pork chops. Look for chops that are at least 1 inch thick and have good marbling. This will ensure that they stay moist and flavorful during cooking.
- Season the chops generously. Before cooking, season the chops with salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings. This will help to enhance their flavor.
- Use a heavy-bottomed skillet. A heavy-bottomed skillet will help to evenly distribute heat and prevent the chops from sticking.
- Sear the chops over high heat. Sear the chops for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are browned. This will help to create a flavorful crust and prevent the chops from drying out.
- Reduce the heat and cook the chops until they are done. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the chops for an additional 8-10 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Let the chops rest before serving. Before serving, let the chops rest for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making them more tender and flavorful.
Conclusion:
Sour cream chops are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a meal that is sure to impress your family and friends. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty weeknight meal, give sour cream chops a try!
