SOUR CREAM CHEESE PUFFS

Sour Cream Cheese Puffs image

I used to make these delicious puffs all the time, and freeze them to always have on hand. They are great for any occasion. I once made them for a rehearsal dinner and they were gone in no time. They are also great for a football party. I usually doubled the batch. Recipe is from my Aug/Sept 2009 Taste of Home magazine.

Tips for Making Sour Cream Cheese Puffs:

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature before mixing. This will help the batter to cream together smoothly.
  • If you don't have a pastry bag, you can use a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped off to pipe the batter.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can cause the puffs to be tough.
  • Fry the puffs in hot oil until they are golden brown and cooked through. Don't overcrowd the pan, or the puffs will not cook evenly.
  • Drain the puffs on paper towels to remove any excess oil.
  • Serve the puffs warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Conclusion:

Sour cream cheese puffs are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or appetizer. They are perfect for parties or potlucks, and they can also be made ahead of time and frozen.
