Number Of Ingredients 10

2/3 c butter
1 1/2 c white and brown sugar mixed
2 3/4 c sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c sour cream
1 c chopped walnuts
2 eggs
1 1/2 banana

Steps:

  • 1. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Add eggs and banana, beat well.
  • 2. Sift together flour, powders and salt.Add alternately with sour cream stirring just to blend.( I add mini chocolate chips and coconut )
  • 3. Grease and flour pans on BOTTOM ONLY.Spoon batter into two medium size bread pans.(4 1/2 x 8 1/2 )or one large bread pan.
  • 4. Bake @ 350 degrees for 50- 60 min. Cool 20 min then remove from pans. ENJOY

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your banana bread will be. Look for bananas with a few brown spots on the peel.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make your banana bread tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a loaf pan with a nonstick coating: This will help prevent the banana bread from sticking to the pan.
  • Bake the banana bread until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: This will ensure that the banana bread is cooked through.
  • Let the banana bread cool completely before slicing and serving: This will help the banana bread to hold its shape.

Conclusion:

Sour cream banana bread is a delicious and easy-to-make treat. With its moist texture, sweet banana flavor, and tangy sour cream, this bread is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. Whether you're looking for a quick breakfast, a tasty snack, or a dessert to serve at your next gathering, sour cream banana bread is a great option.
