CREAMED BEEF FOR SOS
A Recipe that is always requested from my kids when they come and visit. I spent 20 years of my 28 years in the Air Force in the dining hall. I think I have perfected SOS (Creamed Beef).Very simple and quick. Serve over toast (Shingles) or biscuits or hashed brown potatoes. I know leaving the grease in is not real healthy but it really makes it tasty. If you use anything other then HAMBURGER or drain the grease it will not turn out.

CREAMED DRIED BEEF (OR SOS)
If you've ever been in the military, you'll be familiar with this one. My Marine father taught me how to make it when I was a kid, and it's still one of my favorite breakfasts. I use 3 jars of dried beef simply because I love it. You may want try this recipe using only 2 jars the first time you make it. Some folks don't like...

Steps:
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese and dried beef. Mix well.
- Add mayonnaise and mix again.
- You can refrigerate it for at least 15 minutes (better if longer).
- **Note: Do not add salt, the dried beef is very salty.
Tips:
- Use quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the dip will taste. Look for high-quality dried beef, cream cheese, and sour cream.
- Don't overmix the dip: Overmixing can make the dip too runny. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Chill the dip before serving: Chilling the dip allows the flavors to meld and makes it easier to spread.
- Serve the dip with a variety of dippers: Crackers, chips, vegetables, and bread are all great options.
- Garnish the dip before serving: A sprinkle of paprika, chopped chives, or crumbled bacon adds a nice touch.
Conclusion:
SOS dip is a classic party appetizer that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its creamy, tangy, and flavorful taste, it's sure to be a hit at your next gathering. So next time you're looking for a simple and delicious dip to serve, give SOS dip a try.
