Yield 8 to 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 16

2 red bell peppers
1 ripe tomato on the vine, quartered
1/3 cup piquante peppers, such as peppadew, mild or sweet
1/4 of a large white onion, cut into large chunks
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
1 1/2 cups sour cream

1/2 teaspoon lime zest
2 small cloves garlic, finely grated
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Tips:

  • Choose the right corn chips. Not all corn chips are created equal. For this recipe, you'll want to use a sturdy chip that can hold up to the toppings.
  • Layer the toppings evenly. Don't pile all of the toppings on at once. Layer them evenly so that each bite has a bit of everything.
  • Use fresh ingredients. The fresher the ingredients, the better your corn chips will taste.
  • Don't overcook the corn chips. Keep a close eye on them while they're in the oven. They should be golden brown and crispy, but not burnt.
  • Serve immediately. Corn chips are best served fresh out of the oven. They will start to get soggy if they sit for too long.

Conclusion:

Sombrero corn chips are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or appetizer. They're perfect for parties or potlucks, and they're also a great way to use up leftover corn chips. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty snack, try making sombrero corn chips. You won't be disappointed!
