TOASTED SPAM SANDWICHES

Toasted Spam Sandwiches image

This is an easy-to-fix sandwich spread using Spam and Velveeta Cheese. My recipe does not call for onions, but some people do like to add chopped onion. I like to use bread instead of buns, because I prefer equal amounts of bread/spread. Use the buns for a bigger sandwich.

3 tablespoons chili sauce
2 tablespoons chopped sweet onions
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 dash soy sauce or 1 dash teriyaki sauce

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality spam: Look for spam with a bright pink color and a firm texture. Avoid spam that is slimy or has a grayish tint.
  • Slice the spam thinly: This will help it cook evenly and prevent it from becoming tough.
  • Use a nonstick pan: This will help prevent the spam from sticking and burning.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: Cook the spam in batches if necessary to prevent it from steaming instead of frying.
  • Cook the spam until it is crispy: This will give it a delicious flavor and texture.
  • Serve the spam immediately: Spam is best served hot and fresh out of the pan.
