Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Use baking potatoes like Russet or Idaho potatoes. They have a fluffy interior that bakes well.
  • Scrub the potatoes well: Use a vegetable brush to scrub away any dirt or debris from the potatoes.
  • Pierce the potatoes: Use a fork to pierce the potatoes all over. This helps the steam escape and prevents the potatoes from bursting.
  • Rub with oil: Rub the potatoes with olive oil or melted butter. This helps the skin crisp up and adds flavor.
  • Season the potatoes: Sprinkle the potatoes with salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings.
  • Bake at a high temperature: Bake the potatoes at 400°F (200°C) for about an hour, or until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
