NOT SO SLOPPY HOT DOGS

Not so Sloppy Hot Dogs image

This is a take off of sloppy joes. Not sure about the servings as I only cook for the 2 of us. Any extra I use on hamburger buns or it goes well on hash browns or egg with breakfast. I really find this makes a great hot dog! Enjoy.

2 ½ tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons white vinegar
¾ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon taco seasoning mix
¼ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Stir tomato soup, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce into ground beef mixture; season with taco seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Simmer mixture, stirring frequently, until flavors have blended, 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a boil; boil hot dogs in the boiling water until cooked through, 5 to 10 minutes. Remove hot dogs from water using thongs.
  • Place each hot dog into a toasted bun; top each hot dog with ground beef mixture.

Time 20m

Yield 12 Hotdog rollups

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 flour tortillas
12 hot dogs
1 cup refried beans (check out Di'srecipe)
1/2 cup goat cheese ("or" your favorite)
1/2 cup your favorite salsa

Steps:

  • Spread the heated beans on a warm tortilla.
  • Place a frankfurter on top.
  • Sprinkle with cheese and roll up the tortilla.
  • Microwave for 2 minutes or place in preheated 350°F oven for about 10 minutes.
  • Serve with the salsa of your choice.

Tips:

  • Choose the right hot dogs: Use high-quality hot dogs made with beef or turkey. Avoid hot dogs that are made with fillers or extenders.
  • Cook the hot dogs thoroughly: Cook the hot dogs until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. This will ensure that they are safe to eat.
  • Use a good quality cheese: Use a cheese that melts well and has a good flavor. Cheddar, mozzarella, and Swiss are all good choices.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different toppings: There are many different toppings that you can use on snow-capped hot dogs. Some popular choices include chili, onions, sauerkraut, and mustard.
  • Serve the hot dogs immediately: Snow-capped hot dogs are best served immediately after they are made. The cheese will start to harden and the hot dogs will get cold if they sit for too long.

Conclusion:

Snow-capped hot dogs are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for a quick lunch or dinner, or for a party or potluck. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a meal that is both satisfying and delicious.
