Tips:

  • Use a sharp knife to thinly slice the onions. This will help them cook evenly and caramelize nicely.
  • Don't be afraid to let the onions cook for a long time. The longer they cook, the sweeter and more flavorful they will become.
  • If you don't have a cast iron skillet, you can use a regular skillet. Just make sure it's oven-safe.
  • Be careful not to overmix the biscuit dough. Overmixing will make the biscuits tough.
  • Bake the biscuits until they are golden brown and cooked through. Overbaking will make them dry.

Conclusion:

Smoky onion biscuit squares are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. They are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and they can also be served as a side dish or appetizer. The smoky flavor of the onions pairs perfectly with the fluffy biscuits, and the cheese adds a gooey, richness that takes them over the top.
