Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb ground beef
1 can(s) condensed french onion soup
3 can(s) water
3 large yukon gold potatoes, sliced
3 large onion, peeled and sliced
3 large carrots, peeled and sliced

Steps:

  • 1. Brown the beef. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • 2. Pour in the soup and 3 cans of water.
  • 3. Add onions, potatoes, and carrots.
  • 4. Bring to boil and cook for 30-40 minutes (until a fork goes into and pulls out easily from the potatoes).

Tips:

  • Slumgullion is a versatile dish that can be easily customized to your liking. Feel free to add or omit ingredients as desired. For example, if you don't have any bacon, you could use sausage or ground beef instead. If you don't like tomatoes, you could leave them out altogether. And if you want a spicier stew, you could add a teaspoon or two of chili powder.
  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Fresh vegetables, tender meat, and flavorful spices will make all the difference in your slumgullion. Look for organic or locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different cooking methods. Slumgullion can be made in a Dutch oven over the campfire, in a slow cooker, or even in a regular pot on the stovetop. Each method will give the stew a slightly different flavor and texture.
  • Serve slumgullion with your favorite sides. Cornbread, biscuits, mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables are all great options. You could also serve it over rice or noodles.

Conclusion:

Slumgullion is a hearty, flavorful stew that is perfect for a cold winter day. It's also a great way to use up leftover vegetables and meat. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy meal, give slumgullion a try. You won't be disappointed!
