Time 40m

Yield 12 nachos

Number Of Ingredients 9

Three 6-inch corn tortillas
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 pickle spears, finely chopped
1/4 small white onion, finely chopped
1/2 pound ground beef
Kosher salt
7 slices American cheese, quartered

Spread the chips out in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until crisp and just beginning to turn golden brown, rotating the pan halfway through, 14 to 16 minutes. (Leave the oven on.)
  • Meanwhile, mix the pickles and onions in a small bowl and set aside. Heat the remaining tablespoon oil in a medium skillet. Add the ground beef and 1/2 teaspoon salt and cook over medium heat, breaking it up into small pieces and stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in 16 pieces of the American cheese and cook, stirring often, until the cheese is melted, 2 to 3 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ground beef. The better the beef, the better the nachos will be. Look for ground beef that is at least 80% lean.
  • Don't overcook the beef. Overcooked beef will be tough and dry. Cook it just until it is cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Use a variety of cheeses. This will give the nachos a more complex flavor. Cheddar, Monterey Jack, and pepper Jack are all good choices.
  • Don't skimp on the toppings. Nachos are all about the toppings! Load them up with your favorite toppings, such as salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and jalapeños.
  • Serve the nachos immediately. Nachos are best when they are served hot and fresh. If you need to make them ahead of time, you can store them in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours. When you're ready to serve, reheat them in the oven or microwave until they are warmed through.

Conclusion:

These slow cooker spicy cheeseburger nachos are the perfect party food. They are easy to make, delicious, and everyone loves them. So next time you're having a party, give these nachos a try. You won't be disappointed!
