Provided by Patsy Fowler

Categories     Fish

Time 2h10m

Number Of Ingredients 3

4 talapia, filets
2 Tbsp garlic compound butter, chopped into small pieces
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Pull out a large sheet of aluminum foil. Place fillets in the middle ( i had to stack mine to make it fit in my slow cooker) Generously salt and pepper, and evenly divide the butter pieces over fillets. Wrap foil over fish, sealing all sides, and cook on high for 2 hours.
  • 2. You can mix 2 tablespoons butter with 2 minced cloves of garlic and 2 teaspoons of chopped parsley.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh tilapia fillets for the best results. Frozen fillets can be used, but they should be thawed completely before cooking.
  • Use unsalted butter to prevent the dish from becoming too salty. If you only have salted butter, be sure to omit the additional salt from the recipe.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of garlic and lemon juice to your taste. If you like a stronger garlic flavor, add more cloves. If you prefer a more subtle lemon flavor, use less juice.
  • Serve the tilapia with your favorite sides, such as rice, potatoes, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

This slow-cooker garlic butter tilapia recipe is an easy and delicious way to prepare this mild-flavored fish. The tilapia is cooked in a flavorful sauce made with butter, garlic, lemon juice, and herbs, resulting in a moist and tender dish. The slow-cooker method makes this recipe perfect for busy weeknights or when you want to have a meal ready without a lot of effort. Simply add the ingredients to the slow cooker and let it do the work. Serve the tilapia with your favorite sides for a complete and satisfying meal.
