1 garlic clove, minced
2 (14-oz.) cans beef broth
1 (15-oz.) can garbanzo beans or Chickpeas, drained
1 (14.5-oz.) can pasta-style chunky tomatoes, undrained

Tips:

  • When choosing sausage for this soup, opt for a spicy variety that packs a flavorful punch. Andouille, chorizo, or spicy Italian sausage are all excellent options.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of cayenne pepper in the recipe to suit your desired level of spiciness. If you prefer a milder soup, reduce the cayenne pepper to 1/4 teaspoon or even omit it altogether.
  • For a thicker, more substantial soup, add 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour or cornstarch to the soup pot along with the sausage, onions, and green bell pepper. Stir to coat the vegetables and cook for 1-2 minutes before adding the remaining ingredients.
  • If you want a soup with a smoky flavor, use smoked sausage instead of regular sausage. You can also add a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the soup pot for an extra smoky kick.
  • To make the soup ahead of time, cook it according to the recipe instructions and then let it cool completely. Store the soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. When you're ready to serve, reheat the soup over medium heat until warmed through.

Conclusion:

The slow cooker makes it easy to prepare a delicious and comforting spicy sausage soup that's perfect for a cold day. With its hearty combination of spicy sausage, vegetables, and flavorful broth, this soup is sure to warm you up from the inside out.
