SLOW COOKER MEATBALL STEW
Easy and tasty recipe. Original came from the Pillsbury SlowCooker Book. I've slightly modified it to suit our tastes. This isn't overly hot but has some nice bit of spice flavour. For added kick, you could add one tsp of dried chili peppers. **May9, 2008 - it appears not all slowcookers are the same so I have made a small adjustment with the addition of water to the recipe. My cooker doesn't require this but it appears to be a minority! So give it a whirl and then adjust recipe to suit yours.

Tips:
- Use a variety of ground meats: This recipe calls for ground chicken, but you could also use ground turkey, beef, or pork. Using a mix of meats can add flavor and texture to the stew.
- Don't overmix the meatballs: Overmixing can make the meatballs tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Brown the meatballs before adding them to the slow cooker: This will help them hold their shape and prevent them from falling apart in the stew.
- Use a good quality broth: The broth is the base of the stew, so it's important to use a good quality broth. You can use chicken broth, beef broth, or vegetable broth, depending on your preference.
- Add vegetables to the stew: Vegetables add flavor, texture, and nutrients to the stew. You can add any vegetables you like, such as carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, or peas.
- Season the stew to taste: Add salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. You can also add a bay leaf or two for extra flavor.
- Let the stew cook on low for 6-8 hours: This will allow the flavors to meld and the meat to become tender.
Conclusion:
This slow cooker chicken meatball stew is a hearty and flavorful meal that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. Serve it with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for a complete meal.
