Tips:
- Choose the right meat: Ground beef, pork, or turkey can all be used for these meatballs. If you're using ground beef, choose a leaner variety to avoid greasy meatballs.
- Use fresh herbs and spices: Fresh herbs and spices will give your meatballs the best flavor. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but be sure to reduce the amount you use by half.
- Don't overmix the meatball mixture: Overmixing the meatball mixture will make the meatballs tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Form the meatballs into uniform sizes: This will help them cook evenly. Use a tablespoon or a small cookie scoop to measure out the meatball mixture and then roll it into a ball.
- Brown the meatballs before cooking them in the sauce: Browning the meatballs will help to seal in the flavor and prevent them from falling apart in the sauce.
- Use a good quality cheese: The cheese is one of the main ingredients in these meatballs, so it's important to use a good quality cheese that melts well. Cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan are all good choices.
- Simmer the meatballs in the sauce for at least 30 minutes: This will allow the flavors to meld and the meatballs to become tender.
- Serve the meatballs with your favorite pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes: These meatballs are also great for sandwiches or sliders.
Conclusion:
Slow-cooker cheese-stuffed meatballs and sauce is a delicious and easy meal that can be made with just a few simple ingredients. The meatballs are tender and juicy, and the sauce is rich and flavorful. This dish is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual weekend lunch.
