Here's what you need: pork rib, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, dried oregano, BBQ sauce

Provided by Scott Loitsch

Categories     Dinner

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 ½ lb pork rib, 2 racks
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 bottle BBQ sauce, of preference

Steps:

  • Lay out the ribs on a large baking tray.
  • Season evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and oregano. Rub in on all sides.
  • Pour half the BBQ sauce over the ribs and brush to evenly coat all sides.
  • Transfer the ribs to a large slow cooker. Position the ribs so they are standing up, with the meatier side down, and so the meat side is against the walls of the slow cooker, with the bone sides facing in.
  • Cover and cook on low for 7 - 8 hours, or high for 4 hours. Check after the allotted time, you want to make sure the meat is cooked through and tender, but you do not want it to be so tender it falls off the bone. If they seem a little tough, allow to cook an additional 30 minutes, as needed.
  • Remove the ribs and transfer to wire rack set over a foil-lined baking sheet.
  • Paint the ribs with additional BBQ sauce, ensuring they are well-coated on both sides.
  • Broil HIGH for 5-8 minutes to caramelize the sauce, making it slightly charred and bubbly.
  • Remove and carefully cut between the bones to separate into individual ribs.
  • Serve with additional BBQ sauce, as needed.
  • Enjoy!

Steps:

  • Turn the broiler on in your oven.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil and place ribs on sheet.
  • Cover with the BBQ sauce and place in oven to get the BBQ sauce to get a nice char.
  • Optional: You can skip the oven and put on the grill!

SLOW COOKER BBQ RIBS

Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs image

For melt in your mouth ribs when you don't feel like firing up a grill or have a busy day and want to come home to some fall off the bone goodness! So easy to make. The hardest thing is waiting to eat them!!!

Provided by Ruby Henderson

Categories     Ribs

Time 8h5m

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 lb beef short ribs
1 bottle sweet baby rays barbeque sauce
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp vinegar (my preference is seasoned rice vinegar)
2 Tbsp brown sugar
salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder to taste

Steps:

  • 1. put the ribs in the slow cooker. Mix everything else together and pour over ribs. Turn the ribs around to coat them well.
  • 2. set the cooker on low and cook 6-8 hours untill they are tender. As much as you are tempted DON'T raise the lid or you will slow the cooking down.
  • 3. Make some mashed potatoes (or baked potatoes if you have time) (or potatoe salad) and get ready to do some serious eating. Make sure you eat them with your fingers so you'll have something to lick when the meat is gone because believe me you'll still want more !!!

Tips:

  • To achieve fall-off-the-bone ribs, cook them low and slow. The ideal cooking time is 8-10 hours on low or 4-6 hours on high.
  • Use a good quality BBQ sauce. The sauce is what gives the ribs their flavor, so don't skimp on this ingredient.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different spices and seasonings. There are many ways to make delicious BBQ ribs, so find a recipe that you like and then tweak it to your liking.
  • If you don't have a slow cooker, you can also cook ribs in the oven. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit and cook the ribs for 3-4 hours, or until they are fall-off-the-bone tender.
  • Serve the ribs with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or baked beans.

Conclusion:

Slow cooker BBQ ribs are a delicious and easy-to-make meal. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is sure to please everyone at the table. So next time you're looking for a hearty and flavorful meal, give slow cooker BBQ ribs a try. You won't be disappointed!
