Tips:
- Choose the right ribs: Baby back ribs are the most popular choice for slow cooker barbecue ribs, as they are tender and flavorful. Spare ribs are also a good option, but they are a bit tougher and may require a longer cooking time.
- Prepare the ribs: Before cooking, remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs. This will help the ribs to cook evenly and will make them more tender.
- Season the ribs: There are many different ways to season barbecue ribs. Some popular options include a dry rub made with brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder. You can also use a wet rub made with barbecue sauce, honey, and mustard.
- Cook the ribs: Place the ribs in a slow cooker and add enough liquid to cover them halfway. Cook the ribs on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Baste the ribs: Every hour or so, baste the ribs with the cooking liquid. This will help to keep them moist and flavorful.
- Finish the ribs: Once the ribs are cooked, you can finish them by grilling or broiling them. This will give them a nice caramelized crust.
