Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of brisket: Brisket is a large, tough cut of meat that benefits from long, slow cooking. The best cuts for slow-cooker brisket are the flat cut or the point cut. The flat cut is leaner and has a more consistent texture, while the point cut is fattier and has a richer flavor. You can also use a whole brisket, which includes both the flat and point cuts.
  • Season the brisket well: Brisket has a lot of surface area, so it's important to season it well to ensure that it's flavorful throughout. You can use a variety of seasonings, such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and chili powder. You can also add a rub or marinade to the brisket to give it even more flavor.
  • Cook the brisket on low and slow: Brisket is a tough cut of meat, so it needs to be cooked for a long time at a low temperature in order to become tender. The ideal cooking temperature for brisket is between 200 and 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Cooking the brisket at too high of a temperature will make it tough and dry.
  • Add liquid to the slow cooker: Brisket can dry out if it's not cooked with enough liquid. You can add water, beef broth, or a combination of both to the slow cooker. You can also add other liquids, such as beer, wine, or apple cider, to give the brisket more flavor.
  • Cook the brisket until it's fall-apart tender: Brisket is done cooking when it's fall-apart tender. This usually takes 8 to 12 hours on low or 6 to 8 hours on high. You can check the tenderness of the brisket by inserting a fork into it. If the fork slides in and out easily, the brisket is done.

Conclusion:

Slow-cooker barbecue brisket is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that's perfect for a party or a casual get-together. By following these tips, you can make sure that your brisket is tender, flavorful, and fall-apart delicious.
