1/3 cup all-purpose flour
6 beef cube steaks (4 ounces each)
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 large onion, sliced and separated into rings
3 cups water, divided
1 envelope brown gravy mix
1 envelope mushroom gravy mix
1 envelope onion gravy mix
Hot mashed potatoes or cooked noodles

Steps:

  • Place flour in shallow dish. Add steaks, 1 or 2 at a time, and turn to coat completely. , In a skillet, cook steaks in oil until lightly browned on each side. Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker. Add the onion and 2 cups water. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until meat is tender. , In a bowl, whisk together gravy mixes with remaining water. Add to slow cooker; cook 30 minutes longer. 1 (1 1/2 lb) boneless beef top sirloin steaks
steak seasoning
1 onion, cut into chunks
1 green pepper, cut into chunks
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water

Steps:

  • Season beef on both sides with steak seasoning. In a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray, brown beef on both sides.
  • Place onion and green pepper in a 3 quart slow cooker. Top with beef. Combine the broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, garlic, pepper, salt and pepper flakes; pour over beef.
