SLOW COOKER BBQ RIBS RECIPE BY TASTY

Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: pork rib, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, dried oregano, BBQ sauce

Provided by Scott Loitsch

Categories     Dinner

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 ½ lb pork rib, 2 racks
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 bottle BBQ sauce, of preference

Steps:

  • Lay out the ribs on a large baking tray.
  • Season evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and oregano. Rub in on all sides.
  • Pour half the BBQ sauce over the ribs and brush to evenly coat all sides.
  • Transfer the ribs to a large slow cooker. Position the ribs so they are standing up, with the meatier side down, and so the meat side is against the walls of the slow cooker, with the bone sides facing in.
  • Cover and cook on low for 7 - 8 hours, or high for 4 hours. Check after the allotted time, you want to make sure the meat is cooked through and tender, but you do not want it to be so tender it falls off the bone. If they seem a little tough, allow to cook an additional 30 minutes, as needed.
  • Remove the ribs and transfer to wire rack set over a foil-lined baking sheet.
  • Paint the ribs with additional BBQ sauce, ensuring they are well-coated on both sides.
  • Broil HIGH for 5-8 minutes to caramelize the sauce, making it slightly charred and bubbly.
  • Remove and carefully cut between the bones to separate into individual ribs.
  • Serve with additional BBQ sauce, as needed.
  • Enjoy!

SLOW SMOKED COUNTRY STYLE BBQ RIBS

Slow Smoked Country Style BBQ Ribs image

What to do with your leftover BBQ country style ribs? Make a Johnson's Boucaniere "Techneaux Special" grilled cheese sandwich! Take a basic hamburger bun and cover each side with a slice of your favorite cheese, place some pulled rib meat in between and pour on some more BBQ sauce. Cook in a buttered pan or griddle or use a press to get the best results. This will be one of the best grilled sandwiches you will ever eat!

Provided by Food Network

Categories     main-dish

Time 8h

Yield 8 to 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

One 5-pound Boston pork butt, cut into country-style ribs
Your favorite spice rub, for coating ribs
Kansas City-style BBQ sauce (preferably without liquid smoke), for slathering on ribs
Apple juice, as needed, optional

Steps:

  • Prepare a smoker or set up a grill for indirect heat to 200 to 225 degrees F. I use oak wood for my smoke, but pecan or cherry wood also work well.
  • Rinse and then pat dry the ribs. Place in a rectangular pan and coat with a liberal amount of rub on all sides, shaking off any excess. Smoke or grill the ribs for 3 to 4 hours. If the grill or smoker becomes too hot, open the lid and spray the ribs with apple juice, otherwise do not open the lid. If you're looking, you're not cooking.
  • Remove the ribs, wrap in heavy-duty foil and cover tightly. Return to the smoker or grill for another 2 to 3 hours. Pour the BBQ sauce into a squirt bottle. Uncover the ribs and generously apply BBQ sauce. Reduce the temperature to 150 to 175 degrees F. Once the sauce has "melded" to the ribs, remove and let rest. That's it, good luck.

GRILLED SLOW-COOKED BBQ RIBS

Grilled Slow-Cooked BBQ Ribs image

Provided by James Briscione

Categories     main-dish

Time 2h

Yield 6 to 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 racks baby back ribs (1 1/2 to 2 pounds per rack)
3 tablespoons steak seasoning, such as Montreal steak seasoning
12 ounces beer
2 cups barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill for cooking over low heat.
  • Remove the membrane from the bone sides of the ribs. Rub both sides of the ribs with the steak seasoning.
  • Lay 1 rack of the ribs over a large sheet of aluminum foil. Fold up the sides and pour in half of the beer. Seal the foil, leaving enough room for the packet to fill with steam as it cooks. Repeat with the remaining ribs and beer. Arrange the foil packets on the grill and cook until the meat is tender, about 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • Remove the packets from the heat (leave the grill on) and let cool for 5 minutes. Pour about 1/2 cup total of the juices from the foil packets into a small saucepan and stir in the barbecue sauce. Warm the saucepan on the grill.
  • Cut the cooked ribs into portions and reheat on the grill until hot and well-browned on both sides, brushing with the barbecue sauce mixture as they cook. Serve the ribs with the remaining sauce on the side.

SLOW COOKER BBQ RIBS

Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs image

For melt in your mouth ribs when you don't feel like firing up a grill or have a busy day and want to come home to some fall off the bone goodness! So easy to make. The hardest thing is waiting to eat them!!!

Provided by Ruby Henderson

Categories     Ribs

Time 8h5m

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 lb beef short ribs
1 bottle sweet baby rays barbeque sauce
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp vinegar (my preference is seasoned rice vinegar)
2 Tbsp brown sugar
salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder to taste

Steps:

  • 1. put the ribs in the slow cooker. Mix everything else together and pour over ribs. Turn the ribs around to coat them well.
  • 2. set the cooker on low and cook 6-8 hours untill they are tender. As much as you are tempted DON'T raise the lid or you will slow the cooking down.
  • 3. Make some mashed potatoes (or baked potatoes if you have time) (or potatoe salad) and get ready to do some serious eating. Make sure you eat them with your fingers so you'll have something to lick when the meat is gone because believe me you'll still want more !!!

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Select high-quality pork ribs, such as baby back ribs or spare ribs. Look for ribs that are meaty and have a good amount of marbling.
  • Prepare the ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs before cooking. This will help the ribs cook more evenly and allow the rub to penetrate the meat better. You can also trim excess fat if desired.
  • Make a flavorful rub: Combine a variety of spices and herbs to create a flavorful rub for the ribs. Common ingredients in rib rubs include brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and cumin. Experiment with different combinations to find a rub that you enjoy.
  • Apply the rub: Apply the rub to the ribs, making sure to coat all sides evenly. Let the ribs rest for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Cook the ribs slowly: Cook the ribs low and slow to allow the meat to become tender and fall off the bone. The ideal cooking temperature is between 225°F and 250°F. Cook the ribs for 4-6 hours, or until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
  • Baste the ribs: Baste the ribs with a mixture of apple cider vinegar, honey, and melted butter every 30 minutes or so to keep them moist and flavorful.
  • Let the ribs rest: Once the ribs are cooked, let them rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in more tender and flavorful ribs.

Conclusion:

Slow-cooked barbecue ribs are a delicious and satisfying meal that is perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can make fall-off-the-bone ribs that will impress your friends and family. So fire up your grill or smoker and get started today!
