THE BEST SLOPPY JOES
This is weeknight comfort food at its finest. We created a homemade sauce that is tangy and flavorful but also quick and easy. We used both ketchup and canned tomato sauce for lots of tomato-y zip and just a touch of brown sugar for a bit of sweetness and slight caramel finish. Green bell pepper is a key addition; it really enhances the other ingredients, elevating the flavor profile into the realm of a true sloppy joe.

Tips:
- Use a variety of ground meats: This will give your sloppy Joe ziti a more complex flavor. Ground beef, ground pork, and ground turkey are all good options.
- Don't be afraid to experiment with different spices: Chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder are all good choices. You can also add a bit of heat with cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
- Use a good quality pasta: This will help the dish hold up better when it's baked.
- Don't overcook the pasta: It should be cooked al dente, so that it still has a slight bite to it.
- Layer the ingredients carefully: This will help ensure that the dish is evenly cooked.
- Bake the dish until it's bubbly and golden brown: This will take about 20-30 minutes.
- Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving: This will help the flavors meld together.
Conclusion:
Sloppy Joe ziti is a quick and easy weeknight meal that's sure to please the whole family. It's a great way to use up leftover sloppy Joes, or you can make the sloppy Joe filling from scratch. Either way, you'll have a delicious and satisfying meal that's perfect for a busy weeknight.
