Tips:

  • For the best results, use fresh, firm potatoes. Avoid potatoes that are bruised or have blemishes.
  • Yukon Gold potatoes are a good choice for this recipe, as they hold their shape well and have a slightly buttery flavor.
  • Be sure to cook the potatoes until they are tender but not mushy. Overcooked potatoes will fall apart when you mix them with the other ingredients.
  • Allow the potatoes to cool completely before making the salad. This will help them absorb the flavors of the dressing better.
  • Use a sharp knife to mince the horseradish. This will help prevent the horseradish from becoming too chunky.
  • Start with a small amount of horseradish and add more to taste. Horseradish can be very spicy, so it's important to use it sparingly.
  • Feel free to add other ingredients to the salad, such as chopped celery, onion, or hard-boiled eggs.

Conclusion:

This Slightly Spicy Horseradish Potato Salad is a delicious and refreshing side dish that is perfect for summer gatherings. The horseradish gives the salad a bit of a kick, while the mayonnaise and sour cream help to balance out the flavors. This salad is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it!
