I grew up eating this dip and still make it for just about every get together we have at our house. I was hesitant to post because it calls for Cincinnati style chili and I know it isn't available everywhere. But I did see it at Kroger's in Houston, TX so...here it is:) Also, I know there are a few Cincinnati style chili...

This is a Cincinnati favorite!

Categories     Other Appetizers

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 package(s) philly cream cheese
2 can(s) skyline chili (from cincinnati)
3 cup(s) shredded sharp cheddar
1 package(s) fritos scoops

Steps:

  • In a square or rectangular microwavable baking dish (pref. glass) layer from bottom to top the cream cheese, chili and cheese.
  • Microwave 5 minutes until the cheddar is gooey and melted.
  • Serve with Fritos Scoops and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Choose the right type of chili: The best chili for this dip is a medium-heat chili, such as a chili powder or chili paste. Avoid using a very hot chili, as it will overpower the other flavors in the dip.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ingredients will give your dip the best flavor. If you can, use fresh tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. If you don't have fresh ingredients on hand, you can use canned or frozen ingredients instead.
  • Don't overcook the chili: The chili should be cooked until it is just heated through. Overcooking the chili will make it tough and chewy.
  • Add the cheese slowly: Add the cheese to the dip a little at a time, stirring constantly. This will help prevent the cheese from clumping together.
  • Serve the dip immediately: Skyline Chili Dip is best served immediately. If you need to make it ahead of time, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When you're ready to serve, reheat the dip in a saucepan over low heat until it is warmed through.

Conclusion:

Skyline Chili Dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any party or gathering. It is made with a combination of chili, cheese, and spices, and it is served with tortilla chips or crackers. This dip is sure to be a hit with your guests, and it is a great way to use up any leftover chili.
