2 green chile peppers - halved lengthwise, seeded, and cut into strips
1 (2 inch) piece fresh ginger root, thinly sliced

1 cup water
2/3 cup vinegar
2/3 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt

Tips:

  • Choose the right jicama: Look for jicama that is firm and has a smooth, unblemished skin. Avoid jicama that is soft or has any cracks or blemishes.
  • Peel and slice the jicama properly: Use a sharp knife to peel the jicama. Then, slice it into matchsticks or thin slices.
  • Soak the jicama in water: Soaking the jicama in water for 10-15 minutes will help to remove any bitterness.
  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better your salad will taste. If possible, use organic ingredients.
  • Don't overdress the salad: A little bit of dressing goes a long way. Overdressing the salad will make it soggy.
