SIMPLY FRIED APPLES

Simply Fried Apples image

Fewer ingregients and simpler instructions than other Fried Apple recipes I've found, this dish is quick and easy to put on the table. This recipe works great with any apples I've tried, including some that were in the fridge too long and lost their crispness. It's simple to adjust quantities for the number of people you are serving.

Time 8m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 apple (I prefer Fuji)
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 pinch cinnamon

Steps:

  • Peel and slice apple.
  • Melt butter in saute pan or skillet.
  • Saute apple over medium heat until semi-transparent but still with a "bite". (Think pasta al dente).
  • Toss lightly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Goes nicely with pork chops.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: For the best flavor and texture, use firm, tart apples such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn.
  • Slice the apples evenly: This will help them cook evenly.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed skillet: This will help to prevent the apples from sticking and burning.
  • Be patient: Frying the apples takes time. Don't rush the process, or the apples will not be cooked through.
  • Don't overcrowd the skillet: If you overcrowd the skillet, the apples will not cook evenly.
  • Serve immediately: Fried apples are best served immediately, while they are still warm and crispy.

Conclusion:

Fried apples are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect fried apples every time.
