Steps:
- Snap the stem ends of the green beans, or cut them off in a big bunch with a knife if you'd prefer.
- Melt the bacon grease in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the garlic and onions and cook for a minute. Then add the green beans and cook until the beans turn bright green, about a minute. Add the chicken broth, chopped red pepper, salt and pepper to taste. Turn the heat to low and cover the skillet with a lid, leaving the lid cracked to allow steam to escape. Cook until the liquid evaporates and the beans are fairly soft, yet still a bit crisp, 20 to 30 minutes. You can add more chicken broth during the cooking process, but don't be afraid to let it all cook away so the onions and peppers can start to caramelize.

Tips:
- Choose fresh, tender green beans. Look for beans that are bright green and snap easily when you bend them.
- Trim the beans before cooking. Remove the tough ends of the beans and any strings that run along the sides.
- Blanch the beans before cooking. Blanching helps to preserve the beans' color and crispness. To blanch the beans, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they are bright green and tender. Immediately remove the beans from the boiling water and plunge them into a bowl of ice water. This will stop the cooking process and help the beans to retain their color.
- Cook the beans with simple, fresh ingredients. Green beans are a versatile vegetable that can be cooked in many different ways. Some popular methods include sautéing, roasting, and steaming. No matter how you choose to cook them, be sure to use fresh, flavorful ingredients that will complement the beans' natural flavor.
- Season the beans to taste. Green beans can be seasoned with a variety of herbs, spices, and sauces. Some popular seasonings include salt, pepper, garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil. Feel free to experiment with different seasonings to find the ones that you like best.
Conclusion:
Green beans are a healthy, delicious, and versatile vegetable that can be enjoyed in many different ways. Whether you choose to sauté them, roast them, or steam them, be sure to use fresh, flavorful ingredients and season them to taste. With a little creativity, you can create a simple yet elegant green bean dish that will impress your family and friends.
