Yield Makes 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 tablespoons pine nuts
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon rose water or orange-flower water
3 cups plain Greek yogurt
16 fresh figs, halved

Steps:

  • Toast pine nuts in a dry small skillet over medium-low heat, tossing often, until golden brown, about 4 minutes. Immediately transfer to a plate.
  • Heat honey and rose water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until very runny, about 1 minute (do not let boil); let cool.
  • Serve yogurt and figs drizzled with warm honey mixture and topped with pine nuts.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, fresh figs for the best flavor. Look for figs that are plump and have a slight give when pressed.
  • If you don't have a yogurt maker, you can make yogurt in a slow cooker or Instant Pot. Just follow the instructions that came with your appliance.
  • To make the yogurt even creamier, strain it through a cheesecloth-lined colander for several hours before serving.
  • For a sweeter yogurt, add 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup to the milk before you add the yogurt starter.
  • To make a flavored yogurt, add your favorite spices, extracts, or fruits to the yogurt after it has been strained.

Conclusion:

Homemade yogurt is a delicious and healthy snack or breakfast option. It's easy to make, and you can customize it to your liking. With a little planning, you can have fresh, homemade yogurt on hand all week long.
