Time 25m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup parsley leaves, chopped
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 pounds skin-on salmon fillet, preferably center-cut
1 tablespoon Dijon

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil. Mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon kosher salt and a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper in a small bowl. Mix the panko with the parsley, butter, 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt and a few grinds of black pepper in another small bowl.
  • Place the salmon skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet and spread the surface with the Dijon. Press the brown sugar mixture all over the salmon then top with the breadcrumb mixture. Crimp all four sides of the foil to create a border around the salmon, this will help collect the juices so they don't spread and burn. Bake until the breadcrumbs are golden brown, and the salmon is firm and flakes easily when pressed, 15 to 18 minutes. Cut into four equal portions for serving.

Time 25m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 salmon fillets, 1-1/2 inch wide and approximately 1 inch thick (at the thickest point)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon parmesan cheese or 1 tablespoon romano cheese, grated
1 lemon, quartered (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Pour 1 Tbsp of olive oil evenly in the bottom of a 9x9-inch glass baking dish.
  • Place the fillets in the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Pour the remaining olive oil over the fillets.
  • Sprinkle half of the garlic over the fillets.
  • Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the fillets.
  • Sprinkle the cheese over the fillets.
  • Bake for approximately 18 to 20 minutes making sure not to over bake.
  • Squeeze the juice of a lemon quarter over each fillet (optional).

Tips:

  • Choose the right salmon: For the best results, use fresh, wild-caught salmon if possible. Farmed salmon can also be used, but it may have a slightly different flavor and texture.
  • Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to the desired temperature before cooking the salmon. This will help to ensure that the salmon cooks evenly.
  • Season the salmon: Season the salmon with salt, pepper, and any other desired spices or herbs. This will help to enhance the flavor of the fish.
  • Use a baking dish: Place the salmon in a baking dish that is just large enough to hold the fish. This will help to prevent the salmon from drying out during cooking.
  • Cover the salmon: Cover the salmon with aluminum foil or parchment paper. This will help to keep the salmon moist during cooking.
  • Bake the salmon: Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for the desired amount of time. The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the salmon fillet.
  • Check the salmon for doneness: Insert a fork into the thickest part of the salmon. If the fish flakes easily, it is done cooking. If the fish is still raw or undercooked, continue baking for a few more minutes.
  • Serve the salmon: Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. The salmon can be served with a variety of sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or rice.

Conclusion:

Oven-baked salmon is a healthy, delicious, and easy-to-make meal. By following these tips, you can cook salmon perfectly every time. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight dinner, give oven-baked salmon a try!
