Copycat Tastefully Simple - Garlic Garlic Dip image

I have not tried this yet, I found it on wittyliving.com and adapted it to include far less salt. The original called for an entire tablespoon of salt, and I imagined eating play-doh. I hope this is as delecious as the original. Update, I have since tried a few variants of this, with no real success. Each batch seems to come out thick and pasty, instead of creamy, even with a decrease of the dry ingredients. I was actually hoping to delete this recipe, but cannot find that option. Sorry.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Organic garlic, sour cream, mayonnaise, and fresh herbs will make a world of difference.
  • Don't over-roast the garlic. It should be soft and caramelized, but not burnt.
  • If you don't have time to roast garlic, you can use garlic powder or minced garlic from a jar. However, fresh roasted garlic will give you the best flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of mayonnaise and sour cream to achieve your desired consistency. If you like a thicker dip, use more sour cream. If you prefer a thinner dip, use more mayonnaise.
  • Season the dip to taste with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice or a teaspoon of Dijon mustard for extra flavor.
  • Serve the dip immediately or store it in the refrigerator for later. Garlic dip will keep for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
